The painterly checkerboard pattern is even more striking in person, and the burgundy squares add such a cozy, warm depth that photos don't quite capture. I've caught myself just staring at the wall while the light hits it differently each hour.
The colors really shift with the light—those cool cornflower blues turn almost dusty at dusk, while the burgundy stays rich. It's like having a hand-painted tile wall without the grout or the weight.
The burgundy squares are deeper in person than on screen, which makes the whole paper feel richer against my white trim. It took me a while to commit to a busy pattern, but the painterly quality keeps it from feeling flat or harsh.
